Today, I’m excited to reveal the new website for Electrafest 2021, Western Canada’s largest electric mobility showcase. This is an event from the Vancouver Electric Vehicle Association that brings together dealerships, manufactures, vendors, and installers for a giant electric vehicle exhibition. They even demo vintage electric cars, like the 1912 Detroit Electric Vehicle — super cool!
Their new website is a single-pager packed with information. It’s been a long time since I made a real microsite like this, and I had a blast doing it. The website is built on Wordpress, but I didn’t build it with the classic editor or with Gutenberg. Instead, it’s built using a set of custom fields and post types. This makes editing this website much easier than editing your typical Wordpress site.
Also, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the design. I love this website’s design. This was another collaboration with Flipside Creative, who did an ace job with this. Look at it! It’s so fun! So curvy! It looks so alive. Totally love it.
Some other interesting behind the scenes stuff: the folks at Flipside and I were working on this since before COVID-19 hit, assuming it would be the website for this year’s event. Obviously, some things changed.
I’m super stoked on how this turned out. It’s just such a nice website to scroll through. Really proud of my work, and super proud of the work Flipside put into it too. My thanks to them for getting me into another project of theirs!
