An accidental portfolio redesign

July 15, 2025

A couple weeks ago, I wanted to write a blog post about updating website designs for Apple’s forthcoming new design language in the next versions of its major operating systems.

I wanted my blog post to embed a YouTube video, but I needed to add that functionality to the website. No problem! I did that.

But the layout didn’t quite look right. So I tweaked the blog post layout a little bit.

Then I tweaked the blog post layout a lot…

Then I tweaked the blog page, and naturally I had to update the About page too so everything matched. Then I realized that some of my page headers looked out of place now, and I had to tweak those. And suddenly I was updating all my case studies, and working on a new content strategy.

And lo and behold: I accidentally redesigned about 80% of my portfolio.

Still haven’t written that blog post, though. (Coming… eventually.) But I thought I better write something here to commemorate this occasion. After all, if a website is updated in a forest, and and the trees don’t make a sound, does anybody even know about the website’s update? (I think that’s how the saying goes, but don’t quote me.)

Anyway, this is my freshly tweaked portfolio. Now with lots of room for vigorous expansion.

As of July 2025, I have space for only two new clients this year. Please don’t wait, or we will both be sad. You can email me, book a call, or fill out my project questionnaire.
